Memoir/Personal Experience Writing

We are going to begin Memoir writing this week. An important part of writing an excellent Memoir is choosing the appropriate vocabulary and using a variety of sentence lengths. 

Read the following piece of writing and make a comment about what you liked about it and why. Also comment on how this example can help you with your own writing.

Weather Wiz Kids - tells you all about the TECHNICAL VOCABULARY used in weather forecasts and what they mean.

Metservice - a great source of information about the weather all around New Zealand.

TVNZ weather forecast - a weather forecast from a news website.

Science Kids - Weather - informative, Science based information with experiments and facts.

 YOUR TASK: Have a look at these websites them come back to the blog and write a comment about one thing you've learned, or one thing you found interesting about recording the weather.

Home Learning Week 7

We had a mid-term break on Monday which meant a three day weekend and a four day week. Write a couple of sentences that would persuade Mr Sheedy to schedule a mid term break in every term. Include reasons why and specific details.

Home Learning Week 6

For home learning this week I want you to think about all the things you've learned in Maths this term. Fractions, decimals and percentages have been our main focus so keep this in mind. Write a comment on this post saying all the things you've learned and one example of how you could use this Maths in a real life context. 

What a Week!

Well…. it has been a very busy week this week! 

So…we haven't had any Home Learning on the blog. I have however just found a great website with awesome tips for writing a speech.
