Home Learning Week 6

For home learning this week I want you to think about all the things you've learned in Maths this term. Fractions, decimals and percentages have been our main focus so keep this in mind. Write a comment on this post saying all the things you've learned and one example of how you could use this Maths in a real life context.

  3. I have learnt a lot about a fraction wall.
This with help me in real live to know the same fraction so if I don't know one fraction I know the same as that fraction.

  7. This term I have learnt how to find a fraction of a fraction. This will help me in life if I invite 4 friend over but 4 more show up. So If I had cut the cake up in to quarters my first friends would have had 3/4 of the cake but the other friend need 3/4 so I could find 3/4of 3/4 which is 9/16.

  11. I have learnt this term in maths how to use the fraction wall this helps me to know some fractions re the same like :
One quarter is the same as two eights
That is what the fraction wall has helped me with in real life.
Another thing that is helped me is my teacher helping me with fractions because know how to work fraction promblems out you can use time tables or your division if you know them for example one quarter of 24 is 6 because you can just halve the halve or you can go 6 x 4 = 24.

  12. In maths I have learnt quite a lot about Fraction Walls
This would help me if I wanted to tell someone a fraction was the same as another fraction like
1/4 is the same as 2/8 and 1/2 is the same as 2/4.

  18. I have learnt how to add decimal numbers. First you add the whole numbers then you add the tenths then the hundredths. Fractions will help me in real life if I have to share a cake between 10 people I would know to give each person 1/10th of the cake. By Tayla
